AS to BS in Respiratory Therapy— Online

Respiratory therapy is a rapidly growing profession. To meet this demand, Cincinnati Online, has created an online degree program offering working respiratory therapists and new graduates a way to earn a Bachelor of Science in respiratory therapy.

Having a bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy provides a pathway for you to move into leadership roles in education, research and management. The degree prepares you for coveted opportunities in graduate school. After you graduate you will be in an excellent position to take advantage of hospital-instituted clinical ladders and have a competitive advantage when applying for leadership positions.

The Bureau of Labor statistics has estimated a 28 percent growth rate for respiratory therapists in the next 10 years, faster than the average occupational outlook.

The first year will focus on an integrated core of courses designed to enhance your skills in critical thinking, reflective writing, problem solving, research methods and team building.

In the second year, you will take advanced courses in designated fields and specialty areas in respiratory care. You will complete the program with a capstone course and clinical practicum at a clinical setting close to the your home.

You can complete the program completely online and in as little as 20 months with only part-time enrollment.

Community College Partnerships

The Online Respiratory Therapy program has articulation agreements with: Columbus State Community College, Harrisburg Area Community College, Southeast Community College, Ivy Tech Community College, Massasoit Community College and San Juan College.  Articulation Agreement defines a relationship between two institutions of higher education that enables students to more easily transfer from their former institution to the University of Cincinnati.

To see a listing of all of the articulation agreements within the university, visit the University of Cincinnati Articulation Agreements page.
