Admission Requirements (for students enrolled as of 2016)
The Athletic Training Program (ATH) is comprised of students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training within the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS). Students are required to follow a two-tier admission process to successfully complete their undergraduate degree and to be eligible for the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC) credentials as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and state license
Tier I is the Admissions and Professional Cohort Application Process. Here students are required to take introductory prerequisite athletic training courses in preparation to making an application for admissions into the professional athletic training cohort.
Tier II is the Athletic Training Professional Cohort professional studies. If accepted into the professional cohort students will begin advanced academic and clinical athletic training education courses. Only those students who have completed all admissions and application requirements will be eligible and considered for admission into the professional cohort. Admission to the Athletic Training Professional Cohort is competitive and the number of spaces available in the professional cohort is limited.
