The degree in health sciences is open to all students who meet admission requirements for the College of Allied Health Sciences and the Health Sciences Program. Students entering from high school must meet the following criteria:
- 4 units of college preparatory English
- 4 units of college-preparatory mathematics (through Algebra II)
- 3 units of science (1 Chemistry, 1 Physics, and 1 Biology/Anatomy)
- 3 units of social science
- 5 units of electives
Because of the required college coursework in science and math, successful completion of two years of high school algebra, one year of high school geometry, one year of high school chemistry and one year of high school biology is recommended. For students planning on entering the Physiologic Science concentration, pre-calculus is recommended.
It is recommended that students have a 3.0 cumulative GPA and have the following test scores: ACT: 23 Math / 24 Combined and/or SAT: 1070 Math / 1110 Combined (excluding the Writing).

Transition students (those who are currently enrolled in undergraduate programs in other UC colleges, but want to change their major to CAHS) must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, have successfully completed at least one of the four required science sequences (Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, First-Year Chemistry, or College Physics) with no grade below a C-.
Off-campus transfer students must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA at their previous institution(s) and have successfully completed at least one of the four required science sequences (Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, First-Year Chemistry, or College Physics) with no grade below a C-, and have completed at least 1 course in any other science sequence.
