AS to BS in Health Information Management — Online

Summer 2015 HIM grads

Welcome to the University of Cincinnati Health Information Management Online Program (UC HIM). Our program is designed to offer practicing Registered Health Information Technicians (RHITs) the opportunity to earn a Bachelors of Health Sciences Degree in Health Information Management via distance learning.

Our HIM program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education. Graduates will be able to sit for the national certification examination to become Registered Health Information Administrators (RHIA).

Our program includes HIM core competencies and advanced practicum courses. The curriculum was designed to complement the knowledge gained in RHIT courses, as well as the knowledge gained in the work place.

Community College Partnerships

The Online Health Information Management program currently has articulation agreements with: Alfred State College, Chippewa Valley Community College, Neosho County Community College, Owens Community College, Santa Barbara City College and St. Charles Community College. An Articulation Agreement defines a relationship between two institutions of higher education that enables students to more easily transfer from their former institution to the University of Cincinnati.

To see a listing of all of the articulation agreements within the university, visit the University of Cincinnati Articulation Agreements page.
