Nutritional Sciences

Welcome Message

Welcome to the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Cincinnati.  It is an exciting time to consider a degree in nutrition and dietetics.  Our nation’s public health agenda has put healthy eating at the forefront of strategies for chronic disease prevention.  Nutrition graduates will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the health of our nation.

We offer a diverse range of academic programs to train future dietitians and nutrition professionals, including a B.S. in Dietetics with a clinical and sports nutrition concentration, a B.S. in Food and Nutrition with a pre-medicine and community/wellness concentration, a Coordinated Program in Dietetics, and a M.S. in Nutrition.

Our faculty offer students the opportunity to engage in important research related to dietary patterns and disease prevention, nutrition education and health promotion, food literacy in food insecure populations, and reproductive and infant nutrition. There are many opportunities for students to practice what they are learning in the classroom, including providing supervised nutrition assessments on student athletes in our nutritional assessment laboratory, conducting nutrition screenings and education in third world countries through international service opportunities, and engaging in campus community nutrition education through our Student Dietetic Association.

We are proud of the work of our students, faculty, and staff, and are pleased to share some of this work with you on this website. Please contact us if you need additional information. We hope that these web pages will assist you in learning more about our Department and programs.
