Do you need to schedule an appointment to meet with one of our advisors?  Do you have a general question that any knowledgeable UC staff member could answer?  If so, we now have a new e-mail account (cahs.advising@uc.edu) for your convenience.

You will receive a response to your requests/inquiries within 24 hours if submitted Monday through Thursday.  Any requests submitted on a Friday will not receive responses until the following Monday.

Before you submit a request online, please note the kinds of issues/concerns listed below that can be addressed (if the topic/concern you have is not listed below, send an e-mail directly to one of the advisors).

Many curriculum-related questions can be answered by clicking on "Current Curriculum Sheets" at the bottom of the page.

Current Issues/Concerns that you can
submit to cahs.advising@uc.edu

  • How do I:
    • Locate Humanity, Literature, History, or other General Education electives
    • Add/drop a class
    • Grade Replacement
    • Petition into a closed class
    • Find a professor’s contact information
    • Change of colleges (To or From our College)
    • Apply to graduate
    • Get a restriction removed from my account so that I can register for classes
    • Find the curriculum sheet for the major I want to pursue/are pursuing
    • Find information about any of the programs in this College
    • Find out about financial aid (and applying for it)
    • Find a tutor
    • Register for classes or determine when I am eligible to register
  • What are the most common courses taken to fulfill any given General Education
Elective requirement (we are not advising you to take these courses, but our students
have taken these courses a lot)

What we CANNOT address through this account:

  • Transfer credit-related questions (i.e. Will this course that I took at Miami University count
     towards my Chemistry requirement?)
  • Anything that is dependent on your individual situation
  • Lifting registration restrictions (the actual removal)

How to schedule an advising appointment with us!

Step 1:  Send an E-mail to: CAHS.advising@uc.edu

Step 2:  Type in “advising appointment request” in the Subject Header so that we can quickly
contact you to schedule an appointment for  you.

Step 3:   Provide the following information in the body of the message so that we may prepare for your
                   appointment appropriately:

·        Name (First and Last)

·        UC ID number

·        Phone number where you can be reached

·        Bearcat e-mail address

Step 4:   Current Allied Health Science students: BRIEFLY describe purpose of the appointment
                    (i.e. classes for a future term; re-taking classes; exploring other majors within the college;
                      graduation contracts; etc.)

OR

All other students who want to transition to Allied Health Sciences: identify your
CURRENT major and/or institution, your desired major/s AND your desired transition quarter
(i.e. Autumn, Winter, Spring or Summer Quarter).

Step 5:    For non-UC students only: Please fax a copy of an official/unofficial transcript to
513-558-8545. Please specify the program of interest in the fax cover letter.

Step 6:    List at least 3 or 4 different days and times that work best for  you for the upcoming two
weeks.  Please be advised that advisor calendars can get filled quickly, so it is
advantageous for you to not expect to meet with an advisor for at least 3 or 4
four days after the date the request is submitted.  We will do everything in our
power to schedule at the earliest possible time available.  You will receive an
e-mail confirmation of the scheduled appointment as well as a reminder to
contact us if you need to re-schedule.

Step 7:    If you need to re-schedule or cancel for any reason, please contact the advisor
(Kristan Metz or Mike Rosenberg) with whom you have an appointment. You should
include new times (as in Step 6) when you will be available. If you no-show for two or
more appointments, your registration may be restricted.
