Transition Admissions

Transition students are students who are currently enrolled in undergraduate programs in other University of Cincinnati colleges (including UC Blue Ash and UC Clermont), but want to change their program (transition) to the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS).

Please note, if you are interested in an online program, requirements and instructions may be different, please refer to Cincinnati Online for guidance.

The following requirements are for our on-campus programs only.

3.0 cumulative (UC GPA + transfer GPA)

Other Requirements

Will accept P grades (from 2020-2021) as successful completion of coursework required for admission and degree progress.

  • CHEM1030/CHEM1030L OR CHEM 1030/1031 (without labs) Either option with CHEM grades C- or higher (can count higher level courses - ex CHEM 1040).
  • Will accept P grades (from 2020-2021) as successful completion of coursework required for admission and degree progress.

  • Two science courses, do not need to be a sequence (Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Anatomy) w/no grade below C.
  • Will accept P (from 2020-2021) grades as successful completion of coursework required for admission and degree progress.

Other Requirements

  • 1 year of a science sequence completed (Bio, Chem, Physics or Anatomy) w/no grade below C-
    • Health Sciences sequence must meet one of the following UC equivalencies:
      • A&P: BIOL2001C AND BIOL2002C
      • Chemistry: CHEM1040/1040L AND CHEM1041/1041L 
      • Physics: PHYS1051/1051L AND PHYS1052/1052L 
      • Biology: BIOL1081/1081L AND BIOL 1082/1082L
  • Will accept P grades (from 2020-2021) as successful completion of coursework required for admission and degree progress.
  • Only 1 out of 2 courses counting for the science sequence can be satisfied for admission with a grade of P. Students may appeal this policy by emailing cahsadvi@ucmail.uc.edu

  • 1 year of Natural Science (2 courses any combination from CHEM 1030, 1031, BIOL 2001c, 1081, 1082, PHYS 1005c) w/no grade below C (can count higher level courses - ex CHEM 1040) 
  • Will accept P grades (from 2020-2021) as successful completion of coursework required for admission and degree progress.
  • Only 1 out of 2 courses counting for the science sequence can be satisfied for admission with a grade of P. Student may appeal this policy by emailing cahsadvi@ucmail.uc.edu.

  • 1 Semester of Biology with a B or better in the course (3.0 GPA)  
  • 3.0 average in all Science courses 
  • 3.0 average in all Math courses

Theses are intended for students that need advising on the next steps to transitionto CAHS; i.e, classes, future requirements for program etc. This is a one-on-one opportunity to meet with a CAHS academic advisor| Email: cahs.admissions@uc.edu to schedule. 

Change Your Major

If you are ready to change your major, please complete the Change of College Form. You will be contacted via email with the admission decision once your form is processed. You must confirm your admission to be assigned to an academic advisor. Once your confirmation form is processed, you will be notified via email and be able to schedule your mandatory advising appointment.

If you do not meet the above transition requirements, we recommend that you consult with your current advisor OR schedule an appointment with UC's Transfer and Transition Advising Center 

Attend an Info Session

 Info sessions are designed for students wanting to learn more about the programs offered at CAHS.  Our admissions team hosts the sessions. During the meeting, you will discuss details of your desired program and requirements to transition and work on your next steps.
