Why study Health Data Science and Artificial Intelligence : ?
Over the last decade, widespread Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation and optimization has created the conditions for rapidly expanding data science and analytics capabilities. More recently, we have observed further expansion due to the proliferation of other digital health devices and emergence of artificial intelligence. These digital changes are contributing to improved coordination of care, creating efficiencies in the health space, the generation of large amounts of data, and enhancing personalized patient care. Today, the health care industry, including payers, providers, and the patients they serve, are poised to benefit from the availability of massive volumes of structured and unstructured data. In the next 5 years, it is expected that the availability of this data will drive solutions to increase patient engagement and satisfaction, and for clinical decision support.
