As you prepare to take the next step on your journey to becoming a physical therapist, we're here with helpful information and resources to guide you through the process. Bookmark this page and use it as a reference for important timelines, to-dos, and tips. You'll also receive emails with information, as needed, so remember to check your new university-administered email inbox regularly.

To Do List

  1. UC Email Account:  Our program will begin sending all communication through your UC email (mail.uc.edu) account beginning in February.  If you have not already activated your account, within the first two weeks of confirming admission, you would have received an email from Catalyst (the student information system). This email will have the word "Catalyst" in the subject line and will include information about logging into your student account, your UC ID number, and your UC email address. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder if you did not receive this email. Once you have received this email, set up and start checking your UC email regularly, as all important communications from UC and your program will be sent there. Your UC ID number is your M# which you can locate by logging into Catalyst. Please note if you are currently a UC student  you will not receive an email and your M# will stay the same. 
  2. UC ID Badge: If you are new to UC, please see UC’s Public Safety Keys & Badges website regarding obtaining a Bearcat Card. If you are unable to obtain your badge prior to the first day of class, you must obtain it by the end of the first week of classes. You must pick-up your Bearcat Card - this is located on west campus Jefferson/West Corry Street 
    • Park in the Corry Street parking garage (free parking for 30 minutes or less)
    • Address: UC Parking Services 4 Edwards Center - Regular Hours:  Monday-Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm (hours subject to change).  I would suggest calling prior to going to ensure the hours haven't changed.  Phone: 513-556-4925. 
    • When processing your Bearcat Card online, select "student" as the option.  
  3. Required Name Badge/Pin: Order name badge .  Be sure to order by April 26th.  Please allow 2-3 weeks for order to ship.  Ordering Guidelines  
  4. Required Background Check: Complete your PTCAS background check through Certiphi (you should have received an email from Application Station immediately after receiving your offer). If you cannot locate the email, reach out to Stephanie @ knarrsm@ucmail.uc.edu.  The email can be resent to you.  
  5. Physical/Immunizations: Start collecting your immunization records, complete a physical exam, and update any vaccinations.  Please see the Clinical Education Requirement tab for documentation.  We strongly encourage students to begin working through their vaccinations now instead of waiting.  Please note:  the Bearcat Health App will only read the required documentation.  It will not read a listing of immunizations often provided by physician's offices.  
  6. Final Conferred Transcript: Request final transcripts including your degree earned (do this a few weeks AFTER graduation).  You may need to communicate with your university when you can obtain your conferred degree.  This process could take an institute a few weeks.  The key is not to make the request too early before the process is complete.  NOTE: UC graduates do not need to send transcripts.  No need to stress about this, Stephanie is tracking submitted transcripts and will work with you.  
  7. Course Registration: Please don't enroll until prompted. You will receive information directly from Stephanie regarding when to start the process along with specific course codes/sections. Keep this in mind for future semesters too.
