Michelle Gabbard (Hamilton, Ohio, Butler County), Chemical Dependency Counselor (CDCA), Certified Family and Peer Support Specialist, Community Health Worker, and a Prevention Registered Applicant through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Board. She is an intern with SAMHSA 988 and Behavioral Health Crisis Coordinating Office through The Washington Federal Intern program, a stakeholder for EMPOWER project, and an Ohio Representative for SAMHSA planning committee’s project working to improve maternal and fetal health outcomes. Michelle will complete her credentialing education in 2024 for the Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist Assistant (OCPSA) through the University of Cincinnati. She will earn her bachelor’s in social work and substance use counseling from the University of Cincinnati in 2025, with an interest in advocacy and public health policy. Michelle was recently announced as a recipient of a $2000 Mary T. Woelfel Scholarship in recognition of her hard work, dedication and determination as a student. She recently applied for her Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II and currently works as a Substance Abuse Counselor in Columbus, Ohio. Mary currently works for OhioGuidestone as the Crisis Stabilization Residential Manager for ADAMH STARLight Center in Lancaster, Ohio.
