SeeWords Anywhere

The purpose of this research study is to learn more about the effectiveness of the SeeWords Anywhere reading tool in helping middle school and high school students in sounding out words and improving their decoding accuracy. We also want to learn about the students’ opinions of the SeeWords Anywhere reading tool.

You will first read some words and passages to determine your reading level. This will take about 20-40 minutes. Next, you will read a passage on a computer screen, and during some intervention sessions will try the SeeWords Anywhere reading tool. The SeeWords Anywhere reading tool uses pictureembedded text to assist a reader in sounding out words. Each intervention session will take about 10-20 minutes. You will participate in one session per day, for a total of 20 intervention sessions. You will also be asked to fill out a questionnaire regarding your opinion of the SeeWords Anywhere reading tool. The student will receive a $50 gift card after completion of their participation in the study.
