Admissions Requirements

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA 
  • Completion of prerequisite coursework (below)
  • Minimum 3.0 science/math/foundational GPA (indicated by * in prerequisite list below)
  • Completion of the General Graduate Records Exam (GRE) - suggested minimum scores (150 verbal, 150 quantitative, and 3.5 analytical writing).  GRE scores should be sent directly to ATCAS #4526.
    • Applicants who have a cumulative GPA and an essential prerequiste course GPA ≥ 3.333 are not required to take the GRE     
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation (1 from an athletic trainer who supervised your hours)
  • Minimum of 50 ​hours of supervised observation/practice with an athletic trainer
  • Essay of no more than 250 words describing why they chose AT as their professional pathway

Prerequisite Coursework

Applicants may not have more than four in-progress or scheduled prerequisite courses at the time of application.  All prerequisite courses must be completed before the program start date.  For each of the prerequisites below, we have indicated the University of Cincinnati courses that will fulfill the requirements for our program.  For equivalent courses at other colleges/universities, please use Transferology.
