Clinical Affiliates

UC has a long history of athletic training education, and many high-quality clinical affiliations have been developed over decades of UC athletic training programs.

Our sites continue to be valuable community partners as our master’s degree program continues to strive to provide clinical affiliations which allow opportunities for students to experience a wide and diverse set of experiences.  The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics is a primary partner in addition to other Greater Cincinnati area universities, professional organizations, secondary schools, and health care system. These rotations focus on hands on patient interactions to develop skills while also working with many allied health professionals as part of a sports medicine team.

Just a few of the Athletic Training program’s clinical affiliates include:

Professional

Cincinnati Bengals, FC Cincinnati, Cincinnati Ballet

Intercollegiate

University of Cincinnati, Mount St. Joseph University, Thomas More University

Secondary Schools

St. Xavier High School, Walnut Hills High School, Archbishop Moeller High School, Elder High School, Cincinnati Country Day School, Little Miami High School, Winton Woods High School, Princeton High School, Fairfield High School, Harrison High School, Colerain High School, Oak Hills High School, and many more possibilities.

Healthcare Systems

Locations outside of Cincinnati

As part of the curriculum, students have the opportunity in either the fall or spring of their second year to complete a full semester immersive experience away from Cincinnati at a distant location throughout the country.  These unique clinical experiences are designed for students to challenge themselves in a different environment and work in a setting that is in line with their future goals in the profession.

Past distant affiliations: University of Arizona, Virginia Tech, University of Tennessee, Boston College, Chicago Cubs, Vista Ridge High School (Texas), and many more.

Future distant affiliations:  endless possibilities as each student can work with the program to find a site that helps prepare you for your future professional goals
