How to Apply
Speech-Language Pathology - Online
The application procedure for the MA Online program is separate and not related to the application procedures for the on campus program. The program does not use the CSDCAS application in any way. Anyone applying to both programs will have to complete both application processes.
Steps to apply:
- Ensure that you qualify for the program's distance requirement - you must live within 4 hours of driving distance to the university.
- Complete and submit UC Graduate School application via the Graduate School
- Complete/enroll for prerequisite courses.
The Graduate School application includes the following requirements
- A CV or resume for this program typically documents your degrees/previous universities attended, work history, and volunteer experiences, and awards/research you have conducted.
- Essay questions, requiring a short response of approximately 125-150 words each:
- We value students who contribute positively to their sociocultural, learning, and professional communities. How do you want to be seen by other professionals? Describe 2 or 3 of your core values and how these values shape your identity as a professional.
- We value students who advocate for fairness and justice for others and for the profession. Describe how this is reflected in your pre-graduate-school experiences and/or how you envision advocating for individuals from different communities and backgrounds as a future professional.
- We value students with a diverse and broad range of lived experiences. Describe how your lived experiences have contributed to your growth as a student and will continue to shape you as a professional.
- We value students who demonstrate a spirit of inquiry. Describe a time when your curiosity compelled you to ask questions, seek creative approaches to problem-solving, and/or challenge existing practices
- Three (3) letters of recommendation (LOR) are needed and it is strongly recommended that at least 2 of the reference letters be written by instructors who can speak to your academic abilities and potential success as a graduate student.
- Transcripts from each college or university (including community colleges even if you took college classes during high school) attended must be sent (address to send transcripts will be provided in the invitation to submit the full application)
