What inspired you to pursue orthopedic residency training, and how has it shaped your approach as both a physical therapist and clinic manager?

I was inspired to pursue an Orthopedic Residency because I knew that I wanted to further expand my knowledge and skills in order to change the lives of patients and direct my career path. During residency, I spent many hours reading and applying current evidence, treating patients with a clinical mentor, reflecting on my practice, and contributing to our body of research as a speaker at APTA's Combined Sections Metting (CSM). These opportunities not only equipped me to better serve my patients, but also developed my leadership skills to best serve a team of therapists as a Clinic Manager.

What motivates you to continues growing and advancing in your career?

Recognizing the positive impact that I have on patient lives keeps me motivated to pursue professional and personal growth. I know that every opportunity I get to better myself, allows for an opportunity to empower patients to make better choices about their health and wellness. Growing into leadership roles also motivates me to hold myself and others to the highest expectations. I have taken on mentorship roles within my clinic as a Clinical Instructor and Orthopedic Mentor so that I can help shape others' career path and positively impact more patients' lives.

What is your favorite memory from your time at the College of Allied Health Sciences?

My favorite memory during my time in UC's PT program was sharing our Capstone Projects with our professors and peers. It was rewarding to see what we all accomplished over the course of three years together. I remember so many inspiring stories from my peers that encouraged me to continue pursuing excellence. The support that we all felt from one another and the entire faculty was invaluable.
